Bangkok Bicycle Tour

Posted on: September 5th, 2012

The Backtobasics Team recently completed the Co Van Kessel Bangkok Bicycle tour! From the frantic markets and back allyways of China town, a longtail boat ride through the Clong network and onto the more rural plantations of greater Bangkok – we had a beautiful day to take in all the sights, sounds and smells of Bangkok city.
The tour lasted around 6 hours from the time the Co Van Kessel staff met and briefed our team, until the sun went down and we returned to the Grand China Princess hotel. After our bicycle fitting, tyre pumping and bell ringing we were good to go – our tour leader in her bright yellow jersey leading the way.
The ride itself is very pleasant at slow place that gave us ample time to take in all the sights and sounds of the rich environments, with plenty of opportunity to take photos of the temples, markets, houses, shops and of course the local people living, relaxing and working their way through the day.
The Co Van Kessel Bicycle tours have been running in Bangkok for some time now and are very popular with Dutch expats and tourists although all nationalities are very welcome. Sadly, Mr. Co recently passed but the spirit of the tours lives on in great credit to the man himself.
